“Install the monitor first” can create problems if the desk layout, pegboard and cable path have not been planned. Start with the CyberOne Modular configuration and follow the official assembly sequence. Add accessories after the core desk is in place.
This guide helps with setup planning. Use the Cyber Series Installation Manual for the exact hardware, configuration-specific steps and safety requirements for CY-1, CY-L, CY-L2 and CY-U.
Confirm the configuration and assemble the desk
Confirm the desk configuration before assembly. CyberOne Modular is available in Main, L-shaped, Extended L-shaped and U-shaped layouts, and the manual has separate installation paths for each one. Choose the layout based on your work zones, room clearance and where you will sit or stand.
For the Main desk, the manual lists the desktop, cable management tray, tray brackets, control panel, Allen key, screws, power cord and cable-management clips. It also requires at least two people to flip and position the desktop on a clean, flat surface with protective packaging underneath. Follow the supplied manual for these steps.
Route the desk cables
Route the controller and leg cables before adding monitor, lighting or storage accessories. The manual directs these cables through pre-drilled holes and uses cable-management clips to keep them in place. It also identifies a spare cable that should be kept for future use. Use the controller, cables and cable paths specified for the selected configuration.
Plan wall power and device cable paths while the desk is still being assembled. Cables need enough movement range when the desk changes height and should not be pinched, pulled or used to support equipment. See Cable Management for an L-shaped Standing Desk for broader cable-organization guidance.
Add the pegboard before dependent accessories
Install the Main Metal Pegboard before adding accessories that mount to it. The current Monitor Arm System requires a pegboard, and so does the current RGB Ambient Light.
A pegboard is not required for every configuration. However, include it in the order if you plan to use a monitor rail or RGB light. Check current compatibility and included parts before purchasing.
Position monitors once the mounting surface is ready
After the desk, core cables and pegboard are installed, plan the monitor position around the usable work surface. The current Monitor Arm System supports VESA 75 × 75 mm and 100 × 100 mm patterns, has approximately 29.1 inches of rail travel and supports up to 20 lb per arm. Confirm that each monitor meets those requirements.
Place displays according to viewing position and task flow, then check that their cables can move freely through the desk’s height range. See How to Plan a 3-Monitor Standing Desk Setup for more planning guidance.
Choose modules and storage around the setup
Choose optional modules after layout, power and mounting decisions are complete. CyberOne Modular can be configured with optional speakers, charging, RGB lighting, temperature control, monitor support and storage. Select the components that support your workflow, then confirm they are compatible with the chosen configuration.
Plan storage and PC support around cable length and access. Keep frequently used devices within reach and leave enough room for cables to move. Check the current CyberOne Modular product page for available configurations and included components.
